Attendance at the Captain’s Party is not Mandatory. However, you must arrange to pick up your tournament bag before departure, so you will have the required object of the day for video release.
Boats may leave from any Texas Port – Please notify Tournament Headquarters if you are leaving from a port other than Port Aransas, Texas. Make sure you understand all rules and pick up your tournament bag before departure. Tournament Bags will be available after August 7th. Boats must make their own arrangements for dockage in their respective ports – including Port Aransas.
Our Early Departure Time, anytime after 5 pm on August 10th, allows for an unhurried trip offshore during daylight hours for safety and practicality
Weigh Station – Virginia’s Dock, Port Aransas, Texas. All boats submitting videotapes or weighing fish must return to Port Aransas by 6:00 pm on August 12, 2017. Boats must be inside the Port Aransas Municipal Harbor Breakwater. Boats waiting in line to weigh fish inside the harbor at 6pm will be considered on time.
NEW!! CHECK IN AT WEIGH STATION – Please call the weigh station on VHF Channel 68 when you are inside the Port Aransas Municipal Harbor breakwater and you will be checked in and put in line to weigh. The weigh station will call you when it is your time to weigh.
IF you ONLY have a video to present for review, you must still check in. Tell the weigh station you only have a release video. You can then proceed to your slip and bring the video over to Virginia’s 2nd floor. Videos must be brought to Virginia’s for review immediately after docking.
A fish is eligible to be weighed anytime during fishing hours, however, contestants requesting a fish to be weighed outside of the regular weigh station hours should be aware that they may be subject to unforeseen delays depending on the time of day or night. If you need to weigh a fish before the regular Saturday weigh station hours, you must call John Cochrane @409-739-4817 at least one hour before arriving to make an appointment.
This year’s participants will enjoy four special events. The Shrimp Boil Beer Bash, Captain’s Party, Memorial Dinner Party and the Awards Brunch. All registered boats will receive 6 Entry I.D.’s for event admission to Memorial Dinner and Awards Brunch along with T-shirts, hats, tournament bag and other gifts and information. Other prizes will be awarded. Make sure you pick up your bag before departure. Special OBJECT OF THE DAY is included and required for each day of fishing.
Additional Entry I.D.’s and tournament gear can be purchased at registration.
